Children’s Protection Day

Children’s Protection Day

🌍👦👧 November 20 is World Children’s Day, which will also be recognized as the new Children’s Protection Day in Ukraine starting since 2025. This day is associated with the anniversaries of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of the Child (November 20, 1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (November 20, 1989) and aims to draw attention to the well-being of children around the world.

🙏🐾 Ukrainian children need special involvement and assistance due to the ongoing bloody aggression of the russian forces. Kyiv Zoo has become a place that allows children to reclaim their childhood, filled with curiosity about the world, true friends, and genuine emotions. This is why our zoo-therapeutic project “The Good Phasmatidae” has been operating for four years, already involving over 100,000 children, including patients from children’s hospitals, children with disabilities, young internally displaced persons, and children of military personnel. Our animals-assistants provide each of them with communication, warmth and unforgettable childhood experiences 🦗🐁🦎🐏

💙💛 It brings us great joy to be part of the bright memories of Ukraine’s future!
