A new home for rescued Macaw parrots
🦜🦜 Two regular aviaries built by our specialists themselves create comfortable conditions for rescued parrots. A natural “townhouse” for two families of Ara parrots has appeared in Kyiv Zoo orchard.
☝️ This time, exotic parrots got a new home – green-winged macaw and patriotic blue-yellow macaw. These birds were transferred to us by volunteers during the war.
👌 Veterinarians and zoologists of KyivZoo carried out treatment and rehabilitation, and currently the next recovery stage is underway – socialization.
🏞️ Special conditions close to natural ones have been created for birds: two aviaries of 30 square meters, almost 5 meters high, lined with sifted sand. There are: shelters from the weather, bundles of twigs for training beaks, various feeders and feeding troughs, tree branches and accessories.
✅ 👌 And for entertainment and leisure interactive swings, fountains, sandpits, gravel embankments and wooden toys have been installed in the new enclosures.
