World Wildlife Day

World Wildlife Day

☝️🐾 Kyiv Zoo is an important Ukrainian nature conservation institution, which is home to the Rehabilitation and Reintroduction Center for rare species. Therefore, today, March 3rd, on the occasion of World Wildlife Day, we want to once again draw public attention to the importance of preserving every species from our natural diversity. This includes not only the colorful lynxes, powerful bison, majestic bears, or graceful Przewalski’s horses, but also small hamsters, nimble gophers, and frightening bats.

🐹🦇 This is how Kyiv Zoo operates taking care of the breeding and release of rare species back into nature, including the European hamster, the red noctule bat, the late bat, the two-colored bat, and the Mediterranean pipistrelle.

🏞️🇺🇦  Part of the Center’s work takes place in the zoo, while part is conducted directly in the natural environment. Despite the horrific Russian invasion, we continue this conservation activity. Ukrainian nature will survive!
