Watermelon Weekend for the Primates of the Lower Park
🍉 The traditional season of juicy watermelons for Kyiv Zoo residents begins 🐾
🍁 Every weekend in September, visitors will have the opportunity to watch part of Kyiv Zoo’s environmental enrichment programme – watermelon treats for our animals.
☝️ Feeding animals seasonal fruits and vegetables is practised in zoos around the world. And it is not just entertainment, but part of important professional work – environmental enrichment. The aim is to create conditions for each animal that are as close to natural as possible – with different scents and sounds, new objects, interesting toys and a variety of foods.
🐒 The primates of Kyiv Zoo’s Lower Park will open the watermelon season.
⬇️ PUBLIC FEEDINGS 05-06 SEPTEMBER 🍽️🐵
🕥 10:30 – olive baboons, hamadryas baboons, black mangabeys, stump-tailed macaques, green monkeys, De Brazza’s monkeys, patas monkeys, siamangs and the silvery gibbon.
🕛 12:00 – golden-headed lion tamarins and ring-tailed lemurs.
