The new aviary is the home for rescued birds

🙏🐾 🐸🐦 During the war Kyiv Zoo became a center for rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals from all over Ukraine. More than 500 animals have already received help. There are almost 100 different birds among them.

💚 Appropriate species-specific conditions close to natural ones are created for those animals that remained in Kyiv Zoo after treatment and rehabilitation.

🦜🦜🦜 So is our new aviary for twenty rescued parrots including Kramer’s parrot and Indian parrot, red rosella and variegated rosella. Some of them were brought from the affected areas, some were transferred to us by people and some were simply dropped under the zoo in a box.

🏞️ New enclosure was made taking into account comfort and well-being of animals: tree trunks with hollows, bundles of branches for arranging nests, accessories and feeders 🥗 climbing frames and swings, sandbox and rope paths are installed in the aviary for useful and active leisure ☘️ Paved footpaths and lawns of clover and garden herbs with drip irrigation are provided for the walks of these feathered pugs 💦 And since these parrots love water treatments, a decorative pool-fountain is placed in their apartments ⛲
