The European hamster is making a comeback to the Tarutyne Steppe

Kyiv Zoo continues to implement programs for the restoration of rare species of Ukrainian fauna. This year, we released 15 hamsters into the territory of the Tarutyne Steppe to restore the local population. Our wards are adapting to their new environment 🐹🌾

This is a unique project and we are very proud of it. After all, this is the important mission of real zoos to provide conservation of endangered species 💚🙏
