Spring Migration of Nandu Birds
🌞🌷🐾 The spring park of Kyiv Zoo welcomes new residents who are emerging from their winter homes into the summer enclosures.
☝️🏞️ This week, the Nandu birds, which were rescued from the frontline region of Sumy last year, returned to their open aviary. The Nandu birds are now welcomed by guanacos, with whom they share a habitat in the wilds of South America.
👌✅ For maximum comfort, the residents of the enclosure have: a rocky ridge with a waterfall, wooden logs, a pond, a shaded canopy from the sun, and a shelter from the elements with straw mattresses. The entire enclosure area is covered with various types of soil, seeded with grass, and filled with bushes and trees.
🌿🍀 Soon, the young green shoots will become a delightful treat for both the feathered and hoofed inhabitants.
