Rescued Macaque from Hostomel
❓🐵Did you know that there are macaques living in Hostomel? Not only do they live there, but they even run through the city streets, escaping from negligent owners!
‼️Year after year, we tirelessly remind everyone about the unacceptability of keeping wild animals in unsuitable home conditions for the sake of entertainment!
🙏🐒 This week, thanks to the participation of volunteers, we managed to rescue yet another domestic “captive” – a male macaque. The monkey was kept for amusement, and then it grew up and began to exhibit natural behaviors that often starkly contrast with the cute videos seen online.
✅🩺 Currently, the animal has undergone a full checkup at our veterinary hospital and is under strict 30-day quarantine. Ahead lies treatment and a long rehabilitation and adaptation process. The deep stress is perhaps the least of the issues faced by the Hostomel macaque after being kept in inadequate conditions, with poor care and nutrition.
☝️In conclusion, we emphasize once again: do not keep wild animals at home!!!
