Rehabilitation of sika deer

🦌 🤞 We are glad to announce that group of sika deer rescued last week has passed the resuscitation stage and has fully moved on to the treatment and rehabilitation stage.

🏞️ Currently the animals have settled in a large natural enclosure on the ungulate row of Kyiv Zoo. In addition to the open area with bushes and trees and friendly neighbors – red deer, there are canopies and special hiding places for seclusion and relaxation.

☝️ At first, animals that suffered physical and psychological injuries completely refused food and even water. Thanks to the efforts of our zoologists and veterinarians, the appetite and thirst for life returned to the deer.

🙏 We are doing everything possible to save the poor animals who have been wronged by traders of “live goods”. This is a long and complex process lasting from several months to several years. After initial recovery further rehabilitation of these sika deer is planned in the Reserve.

💚  So, when you see a group of new residents in Kyiv Zoo, please keep calm and do not frighten the animals. Just mentally wish these beautiful creatures a quick recovery!
