New deer family at Kyiv Zoo
🦌 Last year our colleagues transferred a pair of young red deer to the zoo – Neo and Trinity. At the same time 5 females of different ages without a male-leader lived in the neighboring enclosure – Zorya, Krasunia, Mavka, Zirka and Kvitka.
💚 Acquaintance in several stages with sniffing, blinking and courting lasted almost a year. And finally two groups were united into one big deer family led by the handsome young male Neo.
🏞 So far the deer have mastered one of the enclosures that we plan to renovate and double in size in spring.
☝️ So this weekend there will be a festive deer treat with fruit and vegetable salads, fragrant fodder brooms and dried meadow herbs on the occasion of new deer family creation.
