Birthday of Kyiv Zoo African Lions

☝️🐾💚 Kyiv Zoo creates individual conditions for each animal. On the one hand, it is an approximation of conditions to natural ones. And on the other hand, it supports health with the help of modern achievements of zoology, zootechnics and veterinary medicine. This is what helps our residents live long and well. That is why our zoo has such long-livers as lions.

👑 🦁🐱 🐱 🐱 This year, on January 25, our African lions – Hercules, Vilia, Daria and Christina will celebrate their 16th birthday! This is a very respectable age, because in the wild they rarely live to be 14.

🍽️🥩 Our birthday lions have a truly royal menu: beef, rabbit and turkey. Each lion can consume up to 7 kg of meat every day! And as a vitamin, these big cats like to taste young shoots of cereal crops🌱

❄️👌 Over the 16 years of life at the zoo, the lions have perfectly adapted to the local climate. They have even grown a warm undercoat and are happy to walk at temperatures down to -10°C! And for their maximum comfort in the spacious enclosure we have created various locations for relaxation and entertainment.

❗🎁 In honor of their 16th anniversary our birthday party will be organized with a special enrichment of the environment which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, January 25-26 at 12:00 🕛 🏞️
