Another victims of smugglers
Human unprofessionalism and greed always have dire consequences. That night National Police officers brought a group of sika deer seized from “live commodity” traders to Kyiv Zoo hospital. The animals were transported in an unequipped metal van as luggage. In addition to numerous injuries, cuts and fractures the deer were extremely exhausted and under heavy stress and one of the deer was dead.
Currently, our veterinarians are doing everything possible around the clock to save the lives of at least part of the group. And the next 2 days will be critical and decisive. Physically and psychologically injured animals refuse food and even water.
Cruelty and indifference have no justification either in relation to people or in relation to animals!
