100th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Kyiv artist Yuriy Ruban
31 August 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Kyiv artist Yuriy Ruban. A sculptor whose works grace the cities of Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, and other countries. An animalist whose compositions “Lions” and “Bison” have been iconic landmarks of the Kyiv Zoo for over half a century.
However, not all visitors know that amidst the greenery of the old Kyiv Zoo park, near the Bear Continent, lies another of the artist’s remarkable works – “Playful Bear Cubs.” This sculpture can only be discovered by stepping off the main path onto a side alley, just past the last bear enclosure.
We congratulate the family of the celebrated creator on this centennial jubilee!
And we invite Kyiv residents and guests of the capital to once again witness the master’s immortal works by visiting the Kyiv Zoo!
