Horace the Elephant’s Pumpkin Weekend
🎃🌍😋 Juicy, bright-orange pumpkins have spread around the world thanks to their delicious taste, nutritional value and remarkable health benefits. In Ukraine, pumpkins have long been enjoyed by both people and animals. That is why this October, Kyiv Zoo is using these ripe autumn treats for another round of environmental enrichment activities for its animals.
☝️🐾🪶 These colourful pumpkin treats encourage exploration, play and feeding behaviours among our four-legged and feathered residents, all of which are essential to their welfare. And they are fascinating for our visitors to watch, too!
🐘🍽️🎃 This weekend, on October 31 and November 1 at 12:00 p.m., our largest resident, Horace the elephant, will enjoy a crunchy pumpkin lunch.
