Watermelon Lunches for African Spurred Tortoises
🌤️🍓🍒 Summer is in full swing, seasonal berries and fruits are replacing one another, and the first juicy watermelons are appearing on our animals’ menu 🍉
🐢🍽️ For African spurred tortoises, watermelon is not only a tasty treat but also a beneficial addition to their daily diet, rich in vitamins and minerals 🥕🥬
🕛🥗 So, this weekend, on 18–19 July at 12:00 p.m., we invite you to watch their first watermelon lunches of the season!
☝️📍 In addition to our well-known giants – Uncle Sasha, Matilda and Cheburek – Kyiv Zoo is home to nearly 20 rescued African spurred tortoises. They live in separate groups in their own picturesque outdoor areas: along the Central Alley, in the fruit orchard and near the Desert Pavilion 🏜️
